Telling our stories not only allows us to share our experiences and the variances in trans narratives, but also enables us to transcend beyond conventional ones.
This project was implemented by one of our volunteers, Mitchell Tran, who was inspired by the Humans of New York project. This project aims to empower our community to share our stories and connect with others worldwide. We provide a platform for people to express themselves and/or showcase their art, craft, talent, or even just something that makes them happy.
While 2016 and 2017 saw leaps forward in bringing in awareness to the trans community, the representation lacked diversity. POC (people of color) queer individuals still struggle to find relatable role models. The media continues to ignore those who expand the gender binary, favoring those on the edges of the gender spectrum. For those who feel invisible or alienated: we want you to be seen and heard.
